Google Calendar Template
The Google calendar template lets you display up to five pre-existing Google calendars. To use the template:
- Choose the default view for your calendar: Month, Week, Day, List
- Add one or more calendars:
- Enter a calendar name/label.
- Enter the Calendar ID.
- To find your calendar ID:
- Log in to Google Calendar
- On the left, find "My calendars"
- Hover over the calendar name you want to use and click the down arrow to open the menu
- Click "Calendar settings"
- Your Calendar ID is in the "Calendar Address" section
- Choose a calendar color from the drop-down menu (blue, green, purple, gray, or orange).
- Adjust each separate Google calendar setting to allow event details to be viewed by all users:
- Choose Settings and sharing
- Scroll down to Access permissions for events and check both boxes to make available to Public and UCSD
- These settings do not give users access to edit, only to view the calendar — unless you add editing permissions separately in the "sharing" area of Settings. Public access allows users to see current calendar events even when they're not logged in.
