Template Options
Version 5 sites use a new homepage template, allow you to take advantange of general templates and add module on two updated pages.
If you need to change the template for a page, email wts@ucsd.edu.
Template types
All sites
- Homepage - WTS will set up the homepage for you when we create a new site. It allows you to use new modules including the Hero image.
- Article template (Two column) - general purpose page, updated to allow you to use new modules
- Three column template - general purpose page with a third column for multiple content areas or blocks
- Drawer - uses expanding accordion drawers to organize large amounts of information (2 column and 3 column versions)
- Profile page
- Profile listing
- Profile listing drawer
Blocks
Within the template, content is organized into blocks. General CMS sites name blocks by function and location, ex: Navigation, Left Block, Middle Block.
Shared Blocks
Some content is maintained in a block outside of a specific page. These blocks can then be shared by multiple pages. On this page, the blue "Departments" area on the left is a shared block. The block is in a separate folder in the CMS (in this case _contacts in Blink) and then linked from specific pages. To change a shared block on a page, navigate to the shared block in the CMS, edit it and then publish the relationships to the block.
